New models - Volvo - EX60Volvo prices EX60 for AustraliaFully electric mid-size Volvo EX60 SUV priced ahead of arrival later this year20 May 2026 VOLVO CARS has announced Australian spec’ and pricing for its all-new EX60 electric mid-size SUV, while simultaneously slashing local prices across its existing EX30 and EX40 battery-electric range as it prepares for the model’s arrival later this year.
The two variant newcomer lists from $86,990 for the rear-wheel-drive EX60 Ultra P6 and $101,990 for the all-wheel-drive EX60 Ultra P10 both excluding on-road costs.
It will sit at the centre of Volvo’s electric SUV offensive targeting rivals including BMW’s iX3 (from $109,900 + ORC), possibly Tesla’s Model Y (from $58,900 + ORC), Audi Q4 e-tron (from $84,900 + ORC), Polestar 4 (from $78,900 + ORC), and Mercedes-Benz’s incoming GLC EV, to name a few.
Volvo bills the EX60 as a “game-changing” model claiming segment-leading range, ultra-fast charging, and next-generation safety technology.
At the same time, Volvo Cars Australia has repositioned its current EV range, cutting prices to create space for the newcomer.
The EX30 now starts from $49,990 + ORC, down $10,000, with up to $11,300 slashed from higher grade EX30 variants including the Ultra single motor and Cross Country while the EX40 falls to $69,990 + ORC, a reduction of $7000.
Volvo Cars Australia director Stephen Connor said the pricing reset was necessary.
“To accommodate the arrival of the EX60 it is paramount that we alter our current game plan,” he said.
The EX60 which will launch locally with two variants, both based on Volvo’s new SPA3 electric vehicle architecture and both using 800-volt electrical architecture.
The entry P6 rear-wheel drive model combines an 83kWh battery with a claimed 610km WLTP range, while the flagship P10 AWD uses a 95kWh pack for up to 660km of driving range.
Performance figures are substantial, with the P10 producing 375kW/710Nm, delivering a 0-100km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds.
The P6 completes the same run in 5.9 seconds.
Volvo says the EX60’s combination of battery design, in-house e-motors, cell-to-body construction and mega-casting technology delivers the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo, matching the smaller EX30.
The EX60 becomes Volvo’s most technologically advanced production model to date with key highlights including Google Gemini AI voice assistant integration, HuginCore core computing platform, and Qualcomm Snapdragon cockpit hardware.
The tech package also includes wireless over-the-air software updates, Apple Music with Dolby Atmos, 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio, headrest speakers in all four outer seats, electrochromic panoramic roof, and integrated child booster cushions
Volvo says the infotainment experience is its fastest and most responsive yet.
As expected, safety remains central to Volvo’s pitch, the EX60 introducing the brand’s new multi-adaptive safety belt, described as a world-first system offering personalised occupant protection.
It also features a strengthened boron steel safety cage and an extensive sensor suite continuously monitoring the surrounding environment.
Volvo says the EX60 goes “beyond regulations and ratings requirements”.
Both Australian variants ride on 21-inch gloss black/matte graphite alloy wheels and are offered in eight exterior colours, including new finishes Forest Lake and Heather Bronze.
The flagship Ultra P10 adds active suspension, ventilated Nappa leather upholstery, extra power and torque, farther range, and quicker acceleration
In a strategic reset, the arrival of the EX60 also reflects Volvo’s broader reassessment of its electrification timeline.
While the company had previously targeted becoming fully electric globally by 2030 – and all-electric in Australia by 2026 – those ambitions have since softened.
Volvo now says it expects “north of 90 per cent” electrified sales rather than full EV exclusivity.
The EX60 is central to the brand’s long-term direction potentially becoming its most important EV yet and the model that replaces the XC60 as its global volume leader.
