New models - Zeekr - 7XZeekr 7X undercuts Model Y, IM6 in OzThree grades of Zeekr 7X head to Australia packing ultra-rapid charging and sharp prices7 Aug 2025 By TOM BAKER ZEEKR plans to enter the mainstream in Australia via its expansion into the midsize electric SUV segment, with the 7X priced to launch in a position that undercuts the Tesla Model Y and IM6.
Set for release in Australia later this month, the three-strong Zeekr 7X range commences from $57,900 (plus on-road costs) in Australia for the Rear Wheel Drive, stepping to $63,900 + ORCs for the Long Range RWD and $72,900 + ORCs for a blistering Performance AWD variant.
As anticipated, the base grade of 7X utilises Geely’s second-generation lithium iron phosphate ‘Golden Brick Battery’ in 71kWh (usable) size with peak DC charging speeds of 450kW, while WLTP range is 480km.
The two longer-range variants adopt a 94kWh (usable) Qilin nickel manganese cobalt battery pack with slightly slower peak charging speeds of 420kW, while WLTP range is 615km for the Long Range RWD and 543km for the Performance AWD.
Using 360kW chargers in Australia, Zeekr claims DC charging times from 10-80 per cent of as little as 13 minutes (RWD) or 16 minutes (Long Range RWD and Performance AWD).
AC charging can be completed at up to 22kW on a three-phase connection across the 7X range. All variants are 800-volt.
All variants utilise the same 310kW/440Nm rear motor, while the Performance AWD adds a second motor at the front axle to generate combined figures of 475kW/710Nm with a 0-100km/h time of 3.8 seconds (claimed).
A five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty is standard, but the first 1000 Australian 7X pre-order holders will be upgraded to a seven-year warranty with the launch special also packing a 7kW wallbox, two charging cables, and complimentary choice of exterior and interior colours.
Standard specification on the RWD Includes LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels in a snowflake design, vinyl interior upholstery, heated and memory front seats, a power tailgate, panoramic sunroof (with blind), 360-degree camera, and a Sentry mode.
The $6000 step into the Long Range RWD adds 28 per cent range while retaining the RWD’s 19-inch wheels and passive dampers, however extra spec includes ventilated front seats, power steering wheel adjustment, a 21-speaker premium stereo and a head-up display.
Opting for the Long Range RWD also opens the option of a black/dark grey interior colour scheme, while the Performance AWD adds a bright white/purple combination.
A final $9000 leap into the Performance AWD buys a considerable performance improvement, but also 21-inch wheels, air suspension, Nappa leather upholstery, orange brake callipers, and electrically opening and closing doors.
Notably missing from the Australian spec sheet are roof-mounted Lidar and matrix LED headlights, both available in the Chinese market.
