With refinements said to be made based on customer feedback, the MY26 SsangYong Musso range is now available from $42,500 driveaway – or up to $5500 more than last month – and comprises three variants (ELX, Advance, and Ultimate) across two wheelbase lengths, with XLV variants the longer of the two.
All grades are now equipped as standard with factory-fitted roof rails, which on the entry-level ELX are accompanied by 17-inch alloy wheels, HID headlights, dual 12.3-inch instrumentation and infotainment screens, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, LED daytime running lights, and front fog lights.
Standard safety equipment includes autonomous emergency braking, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, a reversing camera, and trailer sway assist, to name a few.
The mid-tier Advance grade (from $46,500 d/a) adds to or substitutes those features with 18-inch alloy wheels in black, a blackened grille, black-finished roof rails, dual-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, LED front fog lights and rear door privacy glass.
Safety features above those listed for the ELX include blind spot monitoring, lane change collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit assist, and tyre pressure monitoring.
Finally, for the flagship Ultimate (from $51,500 d/a) we find a bespoke grille, black interior garnishing, 360-degree camera system, LED headlighting, a powered sunroof, sequential front indicators, eight-way powered front seats, power driver-seat lumbar support, heated rear outboard seats, and touch-sensing/walk-away locking.
The Ultimate Luxury grade is deleted from the line-up.
All KGM Musso variants remain powered by a familiar 133kW/420Nm turbocharged 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, dual-range four-wheel drive, and locking rear differential as standard.
ELX, Advance, and Ultimate variants feature a multi-link coil rear-end offering a 790kg payload. Likewise, Advance and Ultimate XLV variants feature a multi-link coil rear-end offering a payload capacity of 880kg.
The ELX XLV is the exception to the remainder of the range offering a leaf sprung rear-end with 1010kg payload. The variant is also the only one in the range to offer hydraulically assisted steering (with electrically assisted steering found elsewhere).
Paint options across the range include Grand White (NCO), White Pearl, Space Black, Marble Grey, and Amazonian Green – the latter four hues attracting a $700 price premium.
As before, the Musso is backed by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and five-year roadside assistance program.
