New models - GWM - Tank - 300 PHEVGWM reveals Tank 300 PHEV specs and pricingSub-$60K ticket to GWM’s powerful plug-in hybrid Tank 300 flagship duo26 Feb 2026 CHINESE manufacturer GWM has revealed specifications and pricing for its Tank 300 Hi4-T plug-in hybrid (PHEV), with two trim grades on offer for less than $60,000 drive-away, completing its line-up of diesel, petrol, hybrid and now PHEV options.
The Tank 300 Hi4-T PHEV duo includes Lux and Ultra grades, priced at $55,990 d/a and $59,990 d/a respectively, with the lower-grade Lux to arrive this month and the upstream Ultra in April.
According to GWM, these are launch prices available for a limited time – but no end date has been shared.
The PHEV models join the Tank 300 diesel (from $47,990 /a), Tank 300 petrol (from $49,990 d/a) and Tank 300 hybrid (from $56,990 d/a), making for an incredibly varied array of powertrain choices.
Specifications for the PHEV reveal it to be the most powerful Tank 300 model by quite a margin.
The Tank 300 Hi4-T uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to an electric motor within the nine-speed automatic transmission, underpinned by a 37kWh nickel manganese cobalt battery to produce combined outputs of 300kW/750Nm.
GWM says the powertrain offers “exceptional low-speed torque, extended electric-only range, and uncompromised mechanical 4x4 capability … all while significantly reducing fuel consumption and emissions”.
Like other Tank 300 variants, the PHEV gets a low-range transfer case and front and rear locking differentials (on the higher Ultra grade) making it a genuine off-roader that should be just as capable as its stablemates albeit with payload, GVM and GCM compromises associated with the weight of its battery pack.
Fuel use comes in at a claimed 1.9L/100km when the battery is charged, and 8.3L/100km when it is low, and the Tank 300 PHEV also offers a claimed electric-only driving range of 115km.
The electrical system features adventure-ready features like vehicle-to-load with up to 6kW discharge, and fast-charging capability allowing a 30 to 80 per cent charge in around 25 minutes.
What separates the Tank 300 Hi4-T Lux and Ultra grades is the inclusion of a front locking diff, underbody protection and some interior features like a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable seats and Nappa leather on the higher trim grade.
“With the Tank 300 Hi4-T PHEV, we’re continuing to expand our cutting-edge plug-in hybrid technology providing genuine off-road strength, all at a highly competitive price point,” said GWM chief operating officer John Kett.
“As demonstrated across our other PHEV variants, we remain committed to delivering vehicles where customers can benefit from strong EV-only range, fast charging, V2L and true mechanical 4×4 capability.”
