Ford prices Ranger Super Duty

Keenly anticipated Ranger Super Duty pricing and specification details announced

17 Jun 2025

FORD Australia has priced its keenly anticipated Ranger Super Duty from $82,990 plus on-road road costs, the single-variant range to be available in three body styles when sales commence early in 2026.

Offered in Single, Super, and Double-Cab Chassis configurations, the Ranger Super Duty boasts 4500kg of braked towing capacity and a payload limit of up to 1982kg. Ford lists the vehicle’s Gross Combined Mass (GCM) at a towering 8000kg – 1200kg more than the evergreen Toyota LandCruiser 79 Series.

The Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of the Ford Ranger Super Duty is listed at 4500kg – or 900kg more than a comparable LandCruiser. Single Cab-Chassis variants can carry 1982kg on the tray, Super Cab-Chassis variants 1896kg, and Double Cab-Chassis variants 1825kg.

Ford lists the front axle capacity at 1900kg and the rear at 2800kg (GAWR).

Further, and with up to 299mm ground clearance, a track width of 1710mm and 850mm of water fording ability, the Ranger Super Duty is also set to win its share of off-road buyers, with Ford Australia declaring the vehicle was purpose built to tackle extreme adventures or the toughest of Aussie worksites – including those in agricultural, construction, emergency, and resource sectors.

Making the Ranger Super Duty fit for work in extreme conditions are standard features including on-board scales, a sealed snorkel, front and rear differential locks, upgraded axles and suspension, and a reinforced chassis.

“The Ranger Super Duty project was about pushing the boundaries of what a mid-size truck can achieve,” said Ford Australia Ranger Super Duty program supervisor Drew O’Shannassy.

“We focused relentlessly on core capability – increasing GVM, GAWR, and towing capacity – while ensuring the truck remains incredibly durable and easy to operate in challenging environments.

“The unique calibration of the V6 diesel ensures that crucial torque is available right where our customers need it for heavy loads, while meeting modern emissions standards.”

Under the bonnet, the Ranger Super Duty is offered solely with a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine familiar elsewhere in the Ranger and Everest line-ups. The unit receives a unique calibration specifically designed to meet stringent EUVI heavy-duty vehicle emissions requirements, including the addition of AdBlue.

It continues to offer the same power and torque values as in other Ranger applications with 154kW of power at 3250rpm and 600Nm of torque from 1750rpm. Ford says the engine features a bespoke cooling system that is 25 per cent more efficient than in existing applications, ensuring dependable performance and strong pulling power even at GVM and GCM.

While Ford has not announced full equipment details of the range, GoAuto understands the base model detailed here will be joined by an XLT grade later in 2026. Ford Australia will also advise details of a “full suite of vehicle personalization accessories” over the coming months.

In the meantime, the importer has advised details of three steel tray options for the entry-grade model, offering galvanized silver, body colour, and matte black. For Single Cab-Chassis prices range from $7121 to $9376 while Super Cab-Chassis prices range from $6296 to 8551. Trays for the Double-Cab Chassis are available from $5966 to $8166. All prices include GST and fitment.

From launch, body paint colours will include Arctic White (NCO) and prestige hues Seismic Tan, Shadow Black, Command Grey, and Aluminium Metallic. Traction Green will join the palette in late 2026.

“We know our customers want a truck that can handle the toughest jobs and most extreme adventures,” said Ford Australia president and chief executive officer Andrew Birkic.

“With its incredible towing, payload, and GCM capabilities, Ranger Super Duty is built to exceed those expectations. We’re providing hard-working Australians the tools they need to succeed.”
