New models - Ford - RangerFull details revealed for Ford Everest, Ranger updateV6 power for more variants, Active entry model for Everest, more tech offered range-wide25 Nov 2025 By MATT BROGAN FORD Australia has announced important updates for its 2026 Everest and Ranger lines, the duo set to reinforce its market leadership by delivering more of what customers need and want, the importer says.
In introducing V6 power to a greater range of variants, adding a new Active grade to the Everest portfolio, and expanding technology offerings across the line-up, Ford Australia says will again raise the bar by which all competitors are measured.
“The Ford Ranger has always set the standard for capability and versatility, and now we’re raising the bar again,” said Ford Australia marketing director Ambrose Henderson.
“We’re giving customers more value, more power, and the trusted, clever features they rely on, whether they’re on a job site or heading out for a weekend adventure.
“At the same time, the Everest has become a favourite of adventure-ready families around the country. We’ve listened to those customers and added more equipment as standard to our entry model, the Everest Active.
As reported by GoAuto previously, Ford will drop the Bi-Turbo four-cylinder engine from the Everest and Ranger in favour of more widely available V6 diesel power. For 2026, the Everest and Ranger will be offered with the 184kW/600Nm unit in both the new Everest Active and base-grade Ranger XL.
It will be available alongside the newly developed 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel – with a new steel timing chain and revised fuel injection system – that delivers 125kW/405Nm to a wide selection of variants.
As per the previous line-up, both engines are paired exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
“By expanding the availability of our powerful 3.0-litre V6 and standardising the 10-speed automatic, we’re putting more of the performance and refinement customers love within their reach,” said Ford Australia Everest and Ranger product marketing manager Michael Ferguson.
Visually, the updated Everest and Ranger line-up is enhanced by a refreshed look that Ford Australia says is muscular, functional and modern.
Across the line-up, chrome has been replaced with modern gloss and matte black finishes, the darkened look applied to several exterior and interior elements, joining updated alloy wheel designs, and bolder lines.
“For this update we have focused on updating what our customers have told us they love,” said Ford Australia chief designer Tax Tran.
“You’ll notice we’ve replaced contrasting greys and chrome accents on some models for blacks.
“The result is a more contemporary way of communicating confidence, the personality of each variant, and premium finishes.
Further, the 2026 updates see the Ranger Black Edition become a staple of the local range, available with both the 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre diesel engine.
The Ranger Sport is dropped from the range, while the Ranger XLS is now available only as a double-cab-chassis with the 3.0-litre V6 engine, taking on equipment highlights that include side steps, carpeted flooring, a driver’s floor mat, and 17-inch alloys with all-terrain tyres.
Now available with a V6 engine for the first time, the work-ready Ranger XL also gains more equipment as standard, including a 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, and dual-zone climate control with rear seat air vents.
Ford Australia says that if you select a V6-powered Ranger XL, 16-inch steel wheels with all-season tyres get swapped for 17-inch steel rims with all-terrain tyres, rear disc brakes are added, as well as an e-shifter and adjustable drive modes.
The Wildtrak continues to be made available in a range of colours including Ignite Orange and is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, and a 10-speaker B&O audio bundle.
Finally, the flagship Platinum adds a new colour dubbed Acacia Green.
Importantly, and for the first time, cab-chassis variants of the Ranger will be offered with an expanded range of safety and driver assistance technologies including blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert.
These join wider MY26.5 Ranger changes that include a digital reverse camera for XL and XLT cab-chassis variants, reverse brake assist, rear acoustic parking sensors, and a lane change warning aid. XLT double-cab-chassis variants further add heavy-duty suspension.
Elsewhere in the range we find the price of Ford’s Flexible Rack System discounted to $1990 (previously $2800); the overhead Auxiliary Switch Bank is now available on all 3.0-litre V6 versions of the XLT and Wildtrak; the Cargo Management System is now available as a standalone option on Wildtrak; the Touring Pack is available only on XLT and Tremor grades; and the 17-inch Wheel Pack is available on XL 2.0-litre variants.
Ford Australia will also introduce a new variant with the arrival of the MY26.5 Ranger portfolio known as the Wolftrak.
This limited-edition model will introduce a new hero colour called Traction Green, and adds Zest-coloured accents on the grille, Asphalt Black 17-inch alloy wheels with A/T tyres, a long-legged sports hoop, LED headlights, and the 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine as standard.
Other equipment highlights for the Ranger Wolftrak include Pro-Trailer Backup Assist and 360-degree camera technology with Trailer Guidance, Heavy Duty Terrain Management with Rotary Dial and additional modes (Sand and Mud/Rut), two front recovery hooks, honeycomb style grille, heated and power folding door mirrors with puddle lights, WOLFTRAK embroidery on the front seats, vinyl upholstery, additional decals, and an overhead Auxiliary Switch Bank.
Ford Australia will also return the Ranger Tremor to the MY26.5 line-up, albeit for a limited time.
This time around, the Ranger Tremor sports a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine, giving the variant an “unparalleled combination of rugged durability and commanding performance for the most challenging terrains”, says Ford.
The additional power and torque is complemented by additions that include General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres, full-time four-wheel drive, a 10-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch Asphalt Black alloy wheels, +30mm increased track width, larger wheel arch mouldings, Bilstein off-road position sensitive dampers with external reservoirs, tougher springs, a +26mm increase in ride height, and heavy-duty electrically assisted power steering with additional underbody shielding.
The MY26.5 Ford Ranger Tremor further offers additional off-road driver assistance features – Trail Turn Assist and Trail Control – alongside Rock Crawl Drive Mode, Tremor badging, Tremor embroidery on the front seats, vinyl upholstery, available Command Grey paint, a front steel bash plate, composite side steps, long legged sports bar, overhead Auxiliary Switch Bank, honeycomb style grille with auxiliary LED marker lights, all-weather floor mats, and heated and power folding door mirrors with puddle lights.
Along with all of the updates listed above, Ford has announced a refresh of the colour palette available on the MY26.5 Ranger line-up.
Blue Lightning is no longer available for Wildtrak, though it remains an option for XLT, Tremor and Raptor; Wildtrak and Platinum gain the exclusive colours Ignite Orange and Acacia Green respectively, replacing Luxe Yellow and Equinox Bronze; the new Wolftrak variant introduces Traction Green to the local Ranger line-up, with the limited-edition model also available with Shadow Black or Command Grey as no-cost options.
There is no advice yet on any changes to the recently introduced Ranger PHEV line-up.
Moving on to the Everest line-up and we find MY26.5 changes that see both the Ambiente and Trend grades dropped from the portfolio. The duo is replaced by an amalgamated variant known as the Active, a variant Ford Australia says features “bold new interior and exterior design themes and features not before seen on the Everest entry series”.
Available with 2.0- and 3.0-litre diesel engines, the Everest Active (from $58,990 plus on-road costs) features equipment highlights such as leather-accented upholstery, a 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, tyre pressure monitoring, LED headlights, and more.
The variant is offered as standard in a five-seat configuration with seven seats available optionally.
Sport, Tremor and Platinum grades will continue as ongoing variants in the Everest line-up. The Everest Sport will be available with both 2.0- and 3.0-litre diesel engines, while Tremor and Platinum are offered exclusively with the V6.
Further, and in response to customer demand, the 360-degree camera has been made standard on Sport and Tremor, and the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) has also been added as a standard feature on Sport.
The Tremor variant’s seating offering has also been updated, now including as standard 10-way power adjustment for the driver, eight-way power adjustment for the front seat passenger, heating and ventilation for the driver and front seat passenger, and the option to remove the third-row seat.
An updated array of colours, including new additions Acacia Green and Alabaster White, will be available for the Everest line-up from MY26.5, while Equinox Bronze will be discounted.
Ford Australia says full specification for both the Everest and Ranger line-ups will be published closer to their local arrival in mid-2026. Order books for both will open in December.
