New models - Audi - Q5Audi adopts new pricing strategy for Q5No price premium for Audi’s new plug-in hybrid Q5 quattro medium SUV12 Nov 2025 AUDI Australia has expanded its popular Q5 line-up with four new quattro AWD models available in Sportback (coupe SUV) and SUV (wagon) body styles with a choice of turbo petrol (TFSI) ICE and (e-hybrid) PHEV powertrains due here in Q1 next year.
The big news for buyers is both powertrains are listed at price parity, meaning buyers can choose the electrified variant at no premium, the deal sweetened on the PHEVs with additional standard equipment – and stronger performance.
The new mid-size Audis are from $96,900 for both the Q5 SUV TFSI quattro 200kW sport and Q5 SUV e-hybrid quattro 270kW rising to $100,400 for both the Q5 Sportback TFSI quattro 200kW sport and the Q5 Sportback e-hybrid quattro 270kW, all excluding on-road costs.
Both powertrains are new to the Q5 line-up and, according to Audi Australia, complete the most diverse and technologically advanced Q5 range ever offered in Australia.
“The Q5 is a cornerstone of Audi’s success in Australia, and with these latest additions, it becomes our most complete and compelling range yet,” said Audi Australia director Jeff Mannering.
“By introducing the TFSI quattro and e-hybrid quattro at price parity, we’re giving customers genuine choice, whether they value the proven performance of petrol power or the advanced efficiency of electrification.
“The e-hybrid, in particular, sets a new benchmark for performance and value, bringing electric capability within reach for more Australian drivers than ever before.”
Under the bonnet of the two TFSi (200kW) offerings is a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 48-volt mild hybrid assistance producing 200kW and 400Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and Audi’s renowned quattro all-wheel drive system.
Externally, the model’s athletic proportions are highlighted by an S line exterior package, 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and Matrix LED headlights with selectable light signatures that form part of the generous standard equipment.
From behind, the model features a projection light below the spoiler to assist with hands free boot operation while adding visual sophistication and improved usability.
Moving inside, the cabin “blends elegance with functionality” with premium materials and finishes including leather-appointed upholstery and aluminium inlays to create an inviting environment.
The advanced Android-based MMI system integrates a 14.5-inch OLED central display with the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus, providing crisp, intuitive control over navigation, infotainment, and vehicle functions.
Wireless smartphone interface, Audi connect plus vehicle connectivity and a suite of colour ambient lighting settings complete the premium experience.
Other tech in the TFSI variants includes adaptive cruise control, Audi side assist, speed sign recognition, 360-degree cameras, and proactive occupant protection, reflecting its comprehensive suite of active and passive safety systems.
The new Q5 e-hybrid (PHEV) quattro represents “a significant step in Audi’s transition toward electrification in Australia” and is its latest-generation plug-in hybrid that combines a 2.0-litre TFSI engine with a powerful electric motor to deliver a total system output of 270kW and 500 Nm – 70kW and 100Nm more than the TFSI quattro variant.
The powertrain package enables a 0-100km/h sprint in a quick 5.1 seconds, “bringing the Q5 e-hybrid tantalisingly close to SQ5 territory,” says Audi.
On the efficiency side, the Q5 e-hybrid’s new high-capacity lithium-ion battery stores 45 per cent more energy than the previous generation, enabling an electric-only WLTP range of up to 82km (for both SUV and Sportback).
Charging flexibility is also improved with the new model supporting three-phase AC charging at up to 11kW, enabling a full charge in as little as 2.5 hours to charge to 100 per cent.
The e-hybrid system has two “intuitive” driving modes – EV and Hybrid through which drivers can tailor regenerative braking levels via steering wheel paddles when in EV mode or allow the car’s predictive hybrid management to automatically balance power delivery and energy recuperation for optimal efficiency.
Additional to TFSI standard equipment the e-hybrid gains a black exterior styling package with anthracite Audi rings, privacy glass and 20-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels paired with red brake callipers.
Inside, auxiliary air-conditioning allows for pre-conditioning of the cabin before departure, the model also scoring a comprehensive array of charging hardware
Both new variants run Audi’s latest MMI panoramic touch display with Android-based operating system that allows “intuitive interaction and seamless connectivity”.
Audi connect plus services, digital radio DAB+, and wireless charging are included while on the safety front, we find nine airbags and comprehensive ADAS comprising 360-degree cameras with kerb view, park assist plus, adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, Audi side assist, and proactive occupant protection from front, side and rear.
All variants are backed by Audi Australia’s five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and six years of roadside assistance. For the Q5 e-hybrid quattro, an eight-year/160,000-kilometre battery warranty provides further peace of mind.
Audi owners receive a complimentary membership to Audi Experience during the warranty period – a loyalty program that offers access to exclusive national events, intimate Audi Ambassador experiences and premium partner offers.
