Shadowy teaser image hints at ruggedised Triton Raider dual-cab ahead of 31 March reveal20 Mar 2026 By MATT BROGAN MITSUBISHI Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) has teased an exciting off-road focused version of its Triton dual-cab utility this week ahead of the variant’s official unveiling on 31 March.
The four-wheel drive Mitsubishi Triton ‘Raider’ has been testing in the wilds of the remote Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctury in outback South Australia, suggesting it will be the Japanese importer’s most adventurous light commercial utility yet.
Inspired by rally raid competitors and with Australian engineering ingenuity at its core, the Triton Raider is expected to rival contenders that include the Ford Ranger Tremor, Nissan Navara PRO-4X, and (now defunct) Toyota HiLux Rugged-X as an out-of-the-box solution for weekend warriors and serious off-roaders alike.
While MMAL has not offered price or specification details at this point in time, it is likely the Triton Raider will continue to draw motivation from Mitsubishi’s 4N16-series twin-turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder diesel with 150kW of power and 470Nm of torque.
The Triton is currently offered only with a six-speed automatic transmission, the Raider variant expected to feature both this, and Mitsubishi’s Super Select II four-wheel drive system with various terrain modes, both centre- and rear locking differentials, and dual range transfer case.
As an expected range-topper, it is likely the Mitsubishi Triton Raider will be priced above the current Triton GSR which is available nationally from $62,990 plus on-road costs.
