Leapmotor B05 and B10 debut in Munich

Stellantis-linked Chinese EV brand Leapmotor unveils B05 hatch and B10 SUV in Munich

11 Sep 2025

STELLANTIS-linked Chinese EV brand Leapmotor has highlighted two new models on its Munich Motor Show stand with the global premiere of the B05 (aka Lafa 5) small segment hatchback and the European sales launch of the B10 compact SUV that premiered at last year’s Paris Motor Show.

Both are on the company LEAP 3.5 architecture and their appearance at Munich marks what Leapmotor says is a “significant milestone in the brand’s global expansion and technological evolution”.

The stylish B05 C-class (small) five-door hatchback is, according to Leapmotor, designed for the new generations of urban trendsetters and is more than just a smart electric vehicle being a “bold expression of performance ambition, and cutting-edge innovation”.

Interestingly, it is thought the model will be “assembled” at Leapmotor’s first European plant in Zaragoza, Spain commencing towards the end of 2026.

The vehicle is characterised by its full width taillights, frameless doors with flush handles, rear spoiler and large 19-inch “Swift Wing” wheels integrated into existing Leapmotor design language.

Speculation as to the models driveline centres around its use of the LEAF 3.5 platform that suggests it will use a rear-wheel-drive configuration with a single electric traction motor, two battery choices in 52.6kWh for the Pro 132kW/175Nm variant and 67.1kWh for the ProMax 160kW/240Nm variant with a best range of approximately 434km in the latter.

A high-performance Ultra model is in the pipeline with specs unknown at the moment.

Size-wise, B05 measures 4430mm in length, 1880mm in width, and 1520mm in height, and  with a wheelbase of 2735mm.

Leapmotor says the model’s “sleek, muscular silhouette” is inspired by a “Tech-Nature Aesthetic,” claimed to blend purity with power, creating a visual language that’s both futuristic and grounded in urban style.

“The B05 is more than a car, it’s a statement. It reflects our commitment to innovation, accessibility, and empowering the next generation of drivers across Europe and beyond,” said Leapmotor CEO Zhu Jiangming.

“This Global launch marks a strategic move to capture the European compact EV market with a product that combines innovation, affordability and bold style.”

Moving to the Leapmotor B10 which “is ready to meet European customers at (Stellantis) dealerships” and is described by the manufacturer as a long-range electric SUV that underscores the company’s long-term strategy for global expansion with Europe at the heart of its ambitions.

With production and European deliveries already underway the model will soon be available in over 30 countries and regions, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and South America.

Like the B05, the B10 midsize SUV it is built on the latest LEAP3.5 architecture and offers advanced connectivity and spacious design with starting price of €29,900 ($A52,885).

Target audience is young professionals, small families and urban dwellers who Leapmotor describes as “people who are open-minded, design-conscious, and eager to embrace electric mobility”.

Size-wise, the B10 measures 4515mm in length, 1885mm in width and 1655mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2735mm.

Inside the B10 features a 14.6-inch 2.5K floating touchscreen powered by the Snapdragon 8155 chip said to offers a fluid navigation experience with the introduction of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via OTA software update.

The latest LEAP OS 4.0 Plus system provides a customizable interface, immersive 3D cockpit, and multi-application display, including smart features as multi scenario modes and the full remote control via the Leapmotor mobile app.

Leapmotor says the B10 offers a “very competitive combination of range and fast charging capabilities and is powered by a high-efficiency electric motor delivering 160kW/240Nm of torque in the high-spec model, 132kW/175Nm in the entry model.

The output enables a 0-100 km/h in 8.0 seconds with a top speed of 170km/h.

The model has two battery options: the Pro battery version with 56.2kWh pack offering up to 361km of WLTP range, and the ProMax battery version with 67.1kWh pack delivering up to 434km.

Both Li-ion batteries support 11kW AC charging and ultra-fast DC charging up to 168kW, enabling a 30–80 per cent charge in less than 20 minutes.

For ideal balance and driving benefits, the model has a 50:50 weight distribution and is suspended via a strut front and multi-link rear suspension with “advanced chassis tuning developed in cooperation with Stellantis engineering team”.

On the safety front the B10 targets a five-star Euro NCAP rating and uses a high-strength steel safety cage, 17 ADAS features including a 360-degree camera system.
