Future models - Kia - KCV-IIIFirst look: Kia flips its glass lidY do it: The KCV-III is aimed at the post-1978 "Generation Y". We may never see it in production, but the KCV-III still points to the future18 Sep 2003 Kia, the Hyundai-owned South Korean, showed off its latest concept at the Frankfurt motor show, a convertible 2+2 with a fully automatic solar glass roof. The KCV-III was designed at Kia’s Namyang design centre and built in France by drop-top specialist Heuliez. Kia says this car is aimed at “Generation Y”, the post-1978 generation, and includes all sorts of gadgets including forward-looking radar, a mobile telematics system, in-dash DVD and an MP3 player. While the car itself is truly a concept, Kia admits that several showcased technologies will appear on its future models. The actual details of the car’s mechanicals are pretty skimpy, Kia revealing power comes from a straightforward 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine.
