Alfa Romeo and Maserati formalise bespoke JV

Bottegafuoriserie to deliver custom-built “few-offs” for iconic Italian car brands

10 Nov 2025

STELLANTIS brands Alfa Romeo and Maserati have formalised a vehicle customisation joint venture (JV) already fully operational and available globally under the Bottegafuoriserie banner.

The creative hub brings together four “departments” within the two brands: Bottega, Fuoriserie, Corse, and La Storia, which preserve, modify, customise, and “innovate” cars from Alfa Romeo and Maserati.

In Italian the term is simply: "Bottega" meaning artisanal shop, store, workshop, or studio and "Fuoriserie" that translates to "custom-built" or "out of the ordinary”.

Under the JV, Bottega prioritises creating “ultra-limited production” models to showcase the pair’s engineering and design prowess exemplified in models like the “high emotion” Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and Maserati MCXtrema.

Fuoriserie is dedicated to customising owner vehicles through access to a dedicated design team. The service covers all models from both brands including series production examples.

Corse is the performance engineering arm using motorsport experience to improve road cars spanning everything from mechanicals to aerodynamics while La Storia is charged with preserving the history of Alfa and Maserati via restorations and certification of classic vehicles.

The latter body is also engaged in improving classic cars through “modern interpretations” and technology upgrades.

The name Fuoriserie may be familiar as it was already used by Maserati for the brand’s customised vehicle program.

Bottegafuoriserie is based in Italy’s so-called Motor Valley that encompasses Piedmont, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, extending from Modena to Turin and Arese (Milan province).

Led by Cristiano Fiorio, reporting directly to Alfa Romeo CEO and Maserati COO Santo Ficili, the program is aimed at bringing together the “wealth of legacies” and “forward-looking visions” of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, two of the most iconic names in Italian automotive history.

Bottegafuoriserie was established under the patronage of the Altagamma Foundation (an Italian organization that represents and promotes the country's high-end cultural and creative companies) drawing on the strengths of both brands and will focus on turning ideas into “exceptional few-offs”.

It will see Alfa Romeo and Maserati custom-built cars created, designed, developed and built utilising “engineering excellence that brings together the best designers, technicians and engineers in the industry.”

“Everything is thought through, crafted and built in Italy.”

Under Bottegafuoriserie every detail of a vehicle is worked on in close synergy with the customer to transform it into something of a “unique piece”… potentially the ultimate personalisation program.

Alfa Romeo CEO and Maserati COO Santo Ficili said, “This launch is more than the creation of a new initiative – it is the symbol of a new era for Alfa Romeo and Maserati.”

“It represents our unwavering belief in the power of Italian creativity, engineering and craftsmanship.

“I am proud to entrust this mission to Cristiano Fiorio; his exceptional work on projects like the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and our motorsport programs has demonstrated not only technical mastery but also a deep emotional connection to the soul of our brands.

“This is the first milestone in a broader transformation that will define the future of both Alfa Romeo and Maserati”.

In reply, Bottegafuoriserie general manager Cristiano Fiorio said, “Being entrusted with the leadership of Bottegafuoriserie is both a profound honour and a thrilling challenge.”

“This is somewhere where past, present and future converge – where we celebrate our heritage while daring to imagine what’s next. I will draw on the incredible experiences gained through special projects and motorsport to guide this new journey.

“With a team of passionate, talented individuals, we will craft vehicles that are not only technically exceptional but emotionally unforgettable.

“Our mission is clear: to honour the legacy of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, and to write the next chapter in their history with boldness, beauty and authenticity. Performance is an act of culture. Creating beauty is a form of art,” he concluded.
