It replaces and is based on the Touareg 210TDI R-Line at an $8700 premium and follows other VW special editions such as the Tiguan Allspace Wolfsburg Edition and T-Roc R Wolfsburg Edition, offering buyers “an exclusive package of styling and luxury enhancements”.
The name Wolfsburg refers to the home of Volkswagen’s global operations and is the “town” where the first Beetle was produced and is represented by an iconic ‘wolf and castle’ emblem… on every special edition.
The Touareg 210TDI Wolfsburg Edition package comprises additional to the aforementioned tailgate-applied emblem, 21-inch Black Leeds alloy wheels, and a “black package” for the roof rails, window surrounds, grille, front and rear bumpers plus the mirror caps.
More standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, rear outboard heated seats, Dynaudio Consequence sound system, head-up display, four-zone climate control, power door latching, passenger seat memory settings, and electric steering column with driver memory setting.

Volkswagen Australia says all Touaregs now in production for Australia will feature “Final Edition” interior appliques including the 170TDI, 210TDI Elegance and flagship R.
All variants are rated at 3500kg towing capacity.
The Touareg 210TDI features a powerful turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 diesel delivering 210kW/600Nm to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive AWD and is capable of clocking a circa 6.0 second 0-100km/h sprint.
Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles head of product Arjun Nidigallu said the Touareg continues to combine an elevated Volkswagen experience with even greater exclusivity towards this generation’s final year of production.
“The Touareg 210TDI Wolfsburg Edition places alongside the Touareg R as the heroes of the current generation model, with additional luxury and exclusivity,” he said.
“The Touareg has long represented the essence of what Volkswagen offers across its elevated SUV line-up, sitting ideally next to the latest Tiguan and Tayron that all offer outstanding cabin design, performance and drivability.”
According to Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles it now delivers the widest range of SUVs it has ever offered in Australia ranging from the compact T-Cross and T-Roc to the mid-size Tiguan and ID. 4 and ID. 5 BEVs, to the large Tayron seven-seater and the Touareg.
