New models - Ford - Ranger - XLTRanger Super Duty Pick-Up and XLT comingPick-Up alternative, higher grade XLT to join Ford’s Ranger Super Duty line-up imminently2 Dec 2025 By MATT BROGAN FORD Australia has announced that it will soon offer a Pick-Up version of its newly released Ranger Super Duty, alongside a higher trim grade XLT variant.
The announcement comes just days after the Blue Oval launched its keenly anticipated new model to the Australian market, the new Pick-Up style variant and XLT set to offer the same capability as the derivative model, but with an added ‘touring focus’.
Priced from $93,990 plus on-road costs, the Pick-Up variant shares its equipment and specification with the donor model and is due in local showrooms from mid-2026.
Ford Australia says the Ranger Super Duty Pick-Up adds the versatility of a factory-fitted tub while retaining the heavy-duty specifications that define the Super Duty badge.
These include a class-leading 4500kg braked towing capacity, 4500kg gross vehicle mass, and an 8000kg GCM. Power and torque values from the turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine remain unchanged at 154kW/600Nm.
The Pick-Up variant – which is available in standard and XLT guise – will also feature the existing Ranger Super Duty’s widened track width of 1710mm, and 850mm wading depth, ensuring, Ford says, that it remains capable in the toughest Australian conditions.
“This is the truck for the customer who needs to tow a heavy work trailer or carry a massive payload during the week but wants to load up the tub and head off-road with the family on the weekend,” said Ford Australia marketing director, Ambrose Henderson.
“It effectively bridges the gap between a dedicated workhorse and a premium touring vehicle, giving owners the freedom to work hard and play harder without compromise.
Mr Ambrose said additional details around payload capacity, ground clearance, and other dimensions will be made available closer to the model’s arrival.
Moving up to the Ranger Super Duty XLT (from $95,990 + ORC) we find premium touches that include Super Duty branded 18-inch alloy wheels, leather-accented upholstery, front seat heating and ventilation, carpeted flooring, and front all-weather floor mats.
Ford has further announced that a new colour dubbed Traction Green will join the Ranger Super Duty palette soon, arriving as a Prestige Paint choice on all variants. Prestige Paint attracts a $700 price premium.
Additional optional equipment and accessories for the MY26.5 Ranger Super Duty line-up include an 8.9-inch digital rear-view mirror ($1250), Aeroklas twin in-bed drawer system ($1250), a choice of three rear canopies (from $4500), carpeted flooring ($1500), rock sliders ($1850), dual battery system ($1850), and wheel nut indicators ($150).
Snorkel and rear-seat delete options are offered at no cost.
“The Ranger Super Duty was born from a direct need to do more for our customers, and the reaction since our initial announcement has been extraordinary,” said Ford Australia president and chief executive officer Andrew Birkic.
“By introducing the Pick-Up body style and the XLT series, we’re taking that massive towing and hauling capability of Ranger Super Duty and making it even more versatile for Australian drivers.
“We know that for many customers – especially those touring our great, vast nation – comfort is just as important as capability.
“The XLT grade, combined with the flexibility of a factory-fitted tub or cab-chassis, opens up the Super Duty to recreational users who want a vehicle that can tow just about anything, anywhere, without sacrificing the refinement needed for long-distance touring.
“The Ranger Super Duty has already captured the imagination of Australians who need serious capability. With the arrival of the Pick-Up body style and the XLT series, we’re making that capability even more accessible for everyday life.
Mr Birkic said order books for the MY26.5 Ranger Super Duty are now open.
